Canadians and Canadian residents (for tax purposes) who is interested in acquiring tech skills and pursuing a career in the industry. Specific program requirements are outlined in the program page of each individual DTTP Program.

We focus on high-demand tech roles including Web Development, User Experience (UX) Design, and Product Management.

4. How does the program help participants succeed in the tech industry?

The program offers a combination of intensive skills training, mentorship, and job placement support to equip participants for successful careers in tech.

5. What are the benefits of participating in the DTTP?

6. What is the goal of the DTTP Black 2023 Product Management cohort?

The goal of this cohort is to train participants in Product Management skills, preparing them for roles as Product Managers, Data Analysts, and Project Managers.

7. How long is the training period for the DTTP Black 2023 Web Development cohort?

The training period for the Web Development cohort spans 8 weeks, during which participants will acquire essential coding and development skills.

8. Is the DTTP focused on providing hands-on experience?

Yes, the program includes a week-long hackathon where participants work in teams to solve real-world challenges, gaining practical experience in applying their skills.

9. What kind of mentorship support is provided in the DTTP?

Each participant is paired with a mentor from the tech industry who provides guidance, insights, and support throughout their journey.

10. How does the program contribute to gender equality in the tech sector?

The program is committed to promoting gender equality by actively engaging and empowering girls and women to excel in tech roles.

11. How much does it cost to enrol in a DTTP Program?

DTTP Programs are usually hosted with no upfront cost to participants. DTTP Programs are funded by WIL Partners globally.

12. What happens after I submit my application?

After submitting your application, our team will review all applications to ensure they meet the program's requirements. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further steps.

13. When will I hear back to know if I’ve been selected or not?

We aim to notify all applicants of their selection status within 1 week before the class start date.

14. Do I have to respond after being selected or am I automatically in?

If you are selected, you will receive an acceptance email with instructions on how to confirm your participation. Please follow the instructions to secure your spot in the program.

15. What tools do I need for this program?

To fully participate in the program, you will need access to a computer, a stable internet connection, and tools like Google Suite. Please make sure you have the necessary resources to engage in online learning. But contact us if access to tools like a Laptop could limit your ability to participate in the program and we will explore options to support your needs.

16. When and what is the orientation?

Orientation details will be communicated to selected participants closer to the program start date. It will cover program expectations, guidelines, and other important information to ensure you have a successful experience.

17. Is this program fully asynchronous or what are the hours I need to be available?

While the program offers flexibility, there will be certain synchronous sessions, such as mentorship meetings, workshops, and collaborative activities. You will receive a schedule that outlines the program's timeline and requirements to help you plan your participation. Content will be available on-demand so don't worry if you can't make it to some sessions.

18. If I work a shift job right now, will I be able to fit the 10-20 hours/week in?

Yes. We understand that participants may have different schedules. The program is designed to accommodate a variety of commitments and the programming is flexible and some sessions recorded to accommodate your availability.
